Goals from Omar Marmoush, Junior Dina Ebimbe, and Hugo Larsson highlighted the exceptional performance of Dino Toppmoeller's team, overpowering the defending champions, per the BBC.

Bayern are Germany's most triumphant club, securing a record 31 national titles, including an unprecedented nine consecutive victories since 2013, along with 20 national cups and numerous European honours.

Despite notable successes like reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2013 and 2020, the Bavarians have also weathered significant setbacks over the last century, moments that are recalled with a sense of dismay.

Sports Brief delves into the most disheartening defeats in Bayern's storied history.

Bayern Munich's most humiliating defeats

5. FC Saarbrücken 6-1 Bayern Munich (1976-77 Bundesliga)

Bayern encountered Saarbrücken on the 30th matchday of the 1976-77 Bundesliga season at Ludwigsparkstadion.

The Bayern lineup featured a star-studded team, with Gerd Muller and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge spearheading the attack, Franz Beckenbauer anchoring the defence, and Sepp Maier guarding the goal.

Despite the formidable opposing lineup, Saarbrücken managed to score two goals in the first half, courtesy of Roland Stegmayer's brace.

Stegmayer continued his impressive performance in the second half, securing another goal. Gerd Muller pulled one back for Bayern with his 22nd goal of the season, but Stegmayer struck again to reestablish a three-goal lead.

In the final 10 minutes, Denz and Schuster each added a goal, sealing a comprehensive 6-1 victory for Saarbrücken over Bayern.

4. Kickers Offenbach 6-0 Bayern Munich (1974-75 Bundesliga)

In their 10th Bundesliga season, Bayern, under the management of Udo Lattek, kicked off their campaign with a visit to Deutsche Bank Park.

However, they suffered a resounding defeat at the hands of Offenbach in front of 36,000 opposing fans. Bayern fielded an attacking trio of Uli Hoeness, Muller, and Rummenigge, with Beckenbauer anchoring the defence.

Offenbach took control in the first half, with goals from Winfried Schäfer and Dieter Schwemmle. The second half saw Offenbach adding four more goals, culminating in a remarkable 6-0 triumph over Bayern.

3. Eintracht Frankfurt 6-0 Bayern Munich (1975-76 Bundesliga)

Guided by newly appointed manager, Dietmar Cramer, Bayern aimed for a resurgence following a disappointing 1974-75 Bundesliga season, per the Guardian.

Leading up to their match against Frankfurt at Deutsche Bank Park, they had only suffered four losses in 14 games.

Deploying a 4-3-3 formation, Bayern featured Rummenigge as the focal point of their attack. However, the match took an early turn as Wenzel scored for Frankfurt in the 8th minute.

The first half intensified with Nickel, Grabowski, Holzenbein, and Neuburger adding four more goals, expanding Frankfurt's lead to five. In the second half, Bernd Nickel scored directly from a corner, securing a sixth goal on the scoresheet against Maier and Frankfurt.

2. Fortuna Düsseldorf 7-1 Bayern Munich (1978-79 Bundesliga)

After finishing seventh in the 1977-78 Bundesliga season under Cramer, Bayern sought a comeback with the appointment of Gyulo Lorent. The season began on a promising note, with only four losses in the first 15 games.

However, they faced a formidable challenge in the 15th league match against Tippenhauer's Dusseldorf. Dusseldorf quickly took the lead in the 1st minute with Allofs' left-footed shot.

Bayern's Augenthaler managed to equalise for the visitors. Nevertheless, Dusseldorf dominated the remainder of the match, scoring six more goals to secure a commanding 7-1 victory at home. Allofs, Gunther, and Wolfgang Seel each scored braces, while Zimmerman added one to Dusseldorf's impressive tally.

1. Bayern Munich 0-7 Schalke (1976-77 Bundesliga)

In a historic moment for Bayern, their most significant defeat unfolded at their home stadium, witnessed by a crowd of 50,000 fans, against Schalke.

Prior to this match, Bayern had suffered only one defeat. Deploying a 4-3-3 formation with Beckenbauer as a sweeper, Bayern encountered a setback as they conceded two goals in the first half, courtesy of Fischer and Kremers from the Schalke side.

Fischer continued his dominance in the second half, completing a hat-trick to accumulate four goals for himself. Dubski and Abramczik contributed the remaining two goals in the staggering 7-0 loss endured by Bayern.

Kane joins Ronaldo and Messi's club

Sports Brief previously reported on England's dramatic comeback win over Italy, which secured their spot in the upcoming Euro tournament, featuring a standout performance from Harry Kane.

The Bayern Munich star, who has been in remarkable form following his move to the Bundesliga club earlier this year, extended his scoring streak by netting two goals in front of the Wembley crowd.

Kane's double on the night propelled him past Sir Bobby Charlton, making him the all-time leading goal-scorer for the England men's team at Wembley, with 24 goals in total at the national stadium.
