FootballAl-Hilal Boss Jorge Jesus Ponders Al-Nassr’s Fate Without Cristiano Ronaldo in the Squad
- Cristiano Ronaldo has been instrumental to Al-Nassr's success since joining the side
- Al-Hilal's Jorge Jesus questioned whether Al-Nassr could win without Ronaldo in the side
- Al-Hilal lead the Saudi Pro League table by 7 points even without Neymar in the team
Imagine an Al-Nassr without Cristiano Ronaldo in the side.
The Portuguese superstar has been in impeccable form since arriving in the Saudi Pro League and has made his impact felt with the side.
But how would they fare without the former Real Madrid man in the team? That’s a question that Al-Hilal boss Jorge Jesus has also asked.
The Al-Hilal manager questioned whether the side could still compete if they didn’t have CR7 in the squad.
Why Jesus questioned Al-Nassr’s depth
Al-Hilal are currently top of the Pro League table, leading Al-Nassr by seven points.
They have had to compete for the past month without one of their star players, Neymar, but have still dominated.
The Brazilian was injured while on international duty and has had knee surgery, ESPN reported.
Jesus has wondered how many of the other Saudi sides will be able to perform at the same level without one of their international stars, Essentially Sports reported.
“I want to see what would become of Al Nassr without Ronaldo, of Al Ahli without Mahrez, of Al Ittihad without Benzema. If we had Neymar, we would be much stronger,” he said.
While Al-Hilal have been without Neymar, they have had an in-form Aleksandar Mitrovic leading the line. The former Fulham striker has scored 14 goals for the side and is chasing down Ronaldo in the league for the Golden Boot award.
