FootballJude Bellingham Equals Another Ronaldo’s Real Madrid Record After Scoring Against Real Betis
- Jude Bellingham was on target this weekend again
- He scored Real Madrid's only goal as they drew 1-1 with Real Betis in La Liga
- The England star has now equalled Cristiano Ronaldo's La Liga record with the goal
Jude Bellingham was on the scoresheet in Real Madrid's frustrating 1-1 draw with Real Betis at the Benito Villamarín on La Liga matchday 16.
The England international scored a tidy goal just after halftime, but the league leaders were pegged back following a sensational strike from Aitor Ruibal minutes later.
Bellingham matched the record of Cristiano Ronaldo with that well-taken goal.
The 20-year-old has been scoring for fun all season and has exceeded all expectations following a big-money move from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.
So far this season, he has scored 16 goals in 18 games in all competitions. He has scored in every Champions League game and scored in all but five La Liga games. Real Madrid occupies the top spot in the table but could be dislodged by Girona if they beat Barcelona away from home.
His 12 La Liga goals put him on top of the goalscoring charts in the Spanish top flight. Getafe's Borja Mayoral is second with nine goals, just like Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezman. Barcelona's highest goalscorer this season is Robert Lewandowski, who has seven goals.
Bellingham matches Ronaldo's record
With 12 goals in his first 14 La Liga games, Bellingham matches Ronaldo's record he set back in the 2009/10 season, his first campaign with Real Madrid.
Ronaldo and Bellingham are the one Real Madrid players with 12 La Liga goals in their first 14 appearances, per Transfermarkt.
Bellingham is only 20 and is matching Ronaldo's golscoring form. It is important to remember that Ronaldo was a Ballon d'Or winner when he got to Madrid and was 24. He had won the Premier League and the Champions League.
The Al-Nassr superstar scored 33 goals in 35 appearances that season, and Bellingham is on track to match that. Can he do it?

The 20-year-old midfielder has dominated the charts in Spain since his summer transfer to Los Blancos, earning the Player of the Month award at the Spanish club for August, September and October, respectively.
