FootballMohamed Salah: Liverpool Star Breaks Into Top 10 of Premier League All Time Goalscorer
- Mohamed Salah scored to initiate a comeback for Liverpool against Crystal Palace
- The goal was his 150th Premier League goal, hence breaking into the top 10 all time list
- It was also his 200th for Liverpool, becoming the fifth player to reach the milestone
Mohamed Salah scored to initiate a comeback for Liverpool against Crystal Palace to go top of the table momentarily before Arsenal play, and reached a double milestone.
The Reds fell behind to Jean-Philippe Mateta’s penalty in the 57th minute, but the Egyptian winger pulled one back with 10 minutes left before youngster Harvey Elliott won it at the death.
Jurgen Klopp’s men found a way to secure all three points after the hard-fought 4-3 victory over another London club, Fulham, last weekend at Anfield.
They could drop to second place by the end of the game week if Arsenal manage to secure all three points at Villa Park against Aston Villa, who have a 14-game winning streak at home.
Salah breaks into top PL goalscorers list
Per BR Football, the goal was Salah’s 150th Premier League goal, breaking into the top 10 of the all-time top scorers list, tied with former Reds Michael Owen.
He reached the milestone in 247 games, the fifth-fewest in the league behind Thierry Henry, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Alan Shearer, all of whom achieved it in fewer games.
Per Squawka, it was also his 200th goal for Liverpool, the fifth player to reach that figure. The African superstar is still a long distance from top scorer Ian Rush, who has 346 goals.

Salah breaks Henry’s record
Sports Brief previously reported on Salah breaking Thierry Henry’s record for most European goals scored for an English club after scoring in Liverpool’s 5-1 win over Toulouse.
Salah, with 43, has the most goals, surpassing Thierry Henry on 42. The closest player to him on the list is Harry Kane, whose tally unfortunately cannot increase, having joined German giants Bayern Munich in the summer.
