- Brentford ace Bryan Mbuemo has been ruled out with an injury
- The Cameroon star suffered a knock against Brighton on Tuesday
- Brentford manager Thomas Frank says it is a bad injury
Brentford and Cameroon winger Bryan Mbuemo is set to spend time on the sidelines after picking a 'bad' injury during an English Premier League game against Brighton.
The 24-year-old, who is Brentford's top scorer this season, netted his seventh of the campaign before limping off at the Falmer Stadium.
According to manager Thomas Frank, the injury is serious and Mbuemo could be out for several weeks.
"It is bad. He'll have a scan later, but we don't know the exact number of weeks he will be out," he said in the post-match presser.
"He will definitely not play on Saturday [against Sheffield United]," he added.
Meanwhile, the player will undergo further tests to determine the exact problem as he begins his recovery process.
This means he will not be part of Cameroon's preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations which begins early next month.
Cameroon have been drawn in Group C of AFCON 2023 and will face Guinea, Senegal and The Gambia, as reported by Channels TV.
The five-time African champions will be hoping the winger recovers in time for the opener against Guinea.
