Two late goals from Jorginho and Tammy Abraham completed a 2-1 stunning comeback for Chelsea over rivals Arsenal in a league match played on Sunday, December 29.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had earlier opened the scoring for Arsenal with his 13th of the season but it was not enough to save the Gunners from an embarrassing defeat.

The match was Mikel Arteta's first at home since taking over as Gunners boss on permanent capacity.

The Spaniard's men were the dominant side through the opening exchanges of the tie and deservedly took the lead in the 13th minute through Aubameyang who nodded home from Calum Chambers' flick.

The home side lodged an appeal for a penalty six minutes later after Alexander Lacazette was brought down in the area, but Craig Pawson could hear none of that.

However, that did not stop Arteta's wards from pushing for a second goal, with their pressure upfront forcing Frank Lampard to an early tactical change.

The second half of the clash saw Chelsea nearly draw level in the 48th minute, but N'Golo Kante fluffed the chance.

The Blues had to wait until the 83rd minute to restore parity through Jorginho who tapped home from Mason Mount's free kick.

Tammy Abraham went on to bag the winner just three minutes to time to complete a stunning comeback for the Blues.

The victory was enough to cement Chelsea place in the top four and now remain fourth with with 35 points, four above fifth-placed Man United.
