Xavi or Iniesta, Eto’o or Suarez: Pedri Chooses Between Barcelona Legends

Barcelona have been blessed with so many legends due to their sustained period of success domestically and in Europe.

Midfielder, Pedri was recently put on the spot when asked to choose between Barcelona legends and they were tough questions.

La Blaugrana have a long list of legendary players like former captain, Lionel Messi, who was instrumental to their success across the continent.

Four Four Two recently ranked the top 50 Barcelona players of all time, and Messi is on top of it. His long-time teammates, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta are second and third, respectively.

Johan Cruyff and Ronaldinho complete the top five. Argentina hero, Deigo Maradona and Cameroon icon, Samuel Eto'o also made the top 10 of that list.

Pedri picks between Barcelona legends

Returning to Pedri, the 21-year-old was recently asked by ESPN to choose between some of the club's icons.

First up was Ronaldinho going up against his fellow Brazilian, Ronaldo Nazario. The young midfielder picked Ronaldinho. He then chose Maradona over Cruyff and Gerard Pique over Carles Puyol.

The big question was Xavi or Iniesta. Xavi is his coach, so one would expect him to choose him, but no. After briefly wondering the question, he picked Iniesta.

He then picked Pedro over David Villa, Yaya Toure over Javier Mascherano, Luis Suarez over Eto'o, Neymar Junior over Rivaldo, and Romario over Patrick Kluivert.

He later picked Sergio Busquets over Pep Guardiola, Thierry Henry over Luis Figo, and finally Deco over Ivan Rakitic.

All these players have made their mark not only at Barcelona but in football, with Pedri expected to follow in their footsteps as a club legend.

Pedri, Garcia watch Warriors vs. Lakers

In May, as Sports Brief reported, Eric Garcia and Pedri travelled to San Francisco to watch the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the second round of the 2023 NBA playoffs against the LA Lakers.

The Warriors won the game 127-100, yet the Lakers and LeBron James won the seven-game series 4-2 before losing in the Western Conference finals to eventual NBA champions, Denver Nuggets.
