Kaizer Motaung Explains Chiefs' Delay in Naming New Coach Amid Links With Pitso Mosimane

Kaizer Chiefs owner, Dr Kaizer Motaung has disclosed why the Glamour Boys are yet to appoint a new coach amid links with Pitso Mosimane.

The Premier Soccer League giants are still without a permanent manager since the ousting of Molefi Ntseki two months ago.

The head of the club's academy and Mosimane's former assistant, Cavin Johnson has been in charge of the first team on an interim basis since Ntseki departed.

Several managers have been linked with the vacant coaching job at Kaizer Chiefs but Mosimane and Manchester United assistant coach, Benni McCarthy currently top the list.

In a recent interview with SportsLIVE, as per FARPost, Motaung told the club's fanbase the reason they are yet to name a new manager.

Motaung explains delay in naming new Chiefs coach

He admitted there were a few names that had been considered but confirmed that none of them were available to take up the job at the moment.

Mosimane recently confirmed that he is not fully ready to take up any coaching job as he wants to spend the Christmas holidays with his family.

"A few names have been identified, but there are no coaches available at the moment," Motaung said.

"We have put a process in place for us to deal with the new coach we want to bring in. Any coach that we bring must have a pre-season training."

The club chairman also urged the fans to be patient and not expect instant changes or success when they eventually appoint a new manager and give him time to work.

"Any coach that comes in needs to be given time," Motaung added. "You cannot bring a coach and expect results immediately and think you’ll win the league in the next season."

Mosimane opens up on latest job offers

Sports Brief previously reported on Mosimane discussing the latest job offers he received amid recent links to DStv Premiership side, Kaizer Chiefs.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor has been without a coaching job since parting ways with the United Arab Emirates league side, Al Wahda.
