West Ham have stepped in to help the family of the club’s centre-back Kurt Zouma after a harrowing home invasion incident.
The club is offering a cash reward of £25,000 to anyone offering information that will lead to the arrest of burglars who raided Zouma’s home.
Zouma and his family were inside their £3m home at the time of the break-in, and the defender subsequently missed his team’s Premier League clash the next day, a game against Crystal Palace. The game ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
West Ham head coach David Moyes initially said Zouma missed the game for “personal reasons” but did not go into details.

FootballAccording to The Guardian, the gang ransacked the mansion Saturday night while Zouma was relaxing with his wife and children.
Sources have since revealed that the family is considering moving as they no longer feel safe in the house.
“Everyone at the club immediately knew it was incredibly serious – as he would not have missed a game otherwise,” the source was quoted by Standard.co.uk.
They added: “The player’s family are too scared to stay at the house – and have already talked of needing to move."
Zouma met his current partner, Sandra, during his days in Lyon in central France. The couple has four children together.
The West Ham star becomes the latest of a string of football stars that robbers have targeted.
More recently, Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling and Joao Cancelo have also been targeted by burglars.
In September, UFC fighter Ciryl Gane had his apartment burgled by thieves during his main event victory in Paris against Moldovan fighter Sergey Spivak at the Accor Arena.
