The Reds' summer signing, Alexis Mac Allister, restored the lead in the 38th minute, but a late goal from Kenny Tete in added time ended the first half in a draw.
The game took a little twist when Bobby Decordova-Reid gave the visitors the lead in the 80th minute, but quickfire goals from Wataru Endo and Alexander-Arnold gave Liverpool the deserved win, according to Sky Sports.
