Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain secured a hard-fought 2-0 win over Le Havre on Sunday to strengthen their grip on top of the table.

Le Havre fans had politely asked Mbappe to let them win, but the France superstar didn't get the message, it seems.

Mbappe has been destroying Ligue 1 teams since making his debut on December 2, 2015. he has won six Ligue 1 titles and five Golden Boots in the league, becoming one of the best players in the world, per Transfermarkt.

Against Le Havre, PSG started on the wrong foot as their goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, received a straight red card. However, Mbappe gave PSG the lead with a sublime strike in the 22nd minute.

Vitinha doubled their lead late in the game to secure all three points for the visitors.

A Le Havre fan had a banner in the stands which translated to "Mbappe let us win please". Mbappe did not receive that message, apparently, per Ligue 1. Le Havre last beat PSG in Ligue 1 in 1999.

The defeat leaves Le Havre 9th after 14 games. They won three and lost four games and have 16 points. Le Havre are the oldest club in France but spent 15 years in the second tier before promotion this year, per the Guardian.

It has produced the likes of Paul Pogba, Riyad Mahrez, Dimitri Payet and Steve Mandanda.

Mbappe in Ligue 1 in 2023/24

Mbappe has been consistent in the French league since his debut in 2015.

This season, he has shown no signs of slowing down. He has scored 18 goals in 18 games despite a turbulent summer.

He was involved in a highly publicized dispute with the club who put him up on sale. The France captain is still expected to leave the French giants at some point this season.

Kylian Mbappe gets Ligue 1 honour

Sports Brief previously reported on PSG forward, Kylian Mbappe being honoured by the French league authorities.

The 24-year-old received a badge which identifies him as the league's top scorer after excelling this league season.

Mbappe is currently leading Ligue 1 goal-scoring chart and is well on track to grab a sixth Golden Boot this season.
