Manchester United playmaker Paul Pogba has stated that he does not know how to tackle properly after he gave away a penalty before scoring in 6-2 Roma rout.

The Frenchman stated that he can’t tackle after he caused a penalty kick against his side in the first-leg Europa League semi-final against the Italian side.

Pogba slid in to try and block a cross from Roma defender, Rick Karsdorp but gave a spot kick away when the ball struck his arm.

After the game, he said via SunSport:

"I just don't know how to tackle! Why should I tackle? That's my problem, I try to tackle and be the English guy. I need to practice more!
"I need to practise more. I need to practise to tackle without arms. It's unlucky. I've been unlucky a lot this season with penalties."

Manchester United who were 2-1 down at half-time returned from the tunnel to score five un-replied goals in the second half to win it 6-2.

They take an emphatic lead into next week’s second leg away from home as they are now a step closer to the final of the competition.

It was earlier gathered that Pogba requested a £500,000-a-week deal from Premier League club Manchester United if he will stay back.

The former Juventus midfielder still has a contract with the Red Devils which runs until the summer of 2022, but Real Madrid are looking to lure him to the Bernabeu.

His agent Mino Raiola reportedly spoke with the club chiefs that his client is ready to sign an extended contract, but only if the weekly wages is worth a staggering half a million per week.

Meanwhile, earlier reported that following his performance in the Europa League against Roma, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has promised to do everything to convince Edinson Cavani to stay for one more season.

Cavani produced a sensational show in the encounter scoring two goals and making three assists to give his side a better chance at reaching the final.

And Solskjaer is now hoping the Uruguayan commits his future to the club so he can experience the "different feeling" of scoring in front of a full Old Trafford.
