FootballVictor Osimhen: Former Liverpool Star Convinced Super Eagles Star Will Join Chelsea
- Victor Osimhen is said to be a top transfer target for Premier League side Chelsea
- The Nigerian international is yet to sign a new contract with Serie A champs Napoli
- A former Liverpool star is confident that the Super Eagles striker will join the Blues
Former Liverpool defender, Glen Johnson is convinced that Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen will eventually join Chelsea in one of the transfer windows.
The Super Eagles striker is rated as one of the best in the world alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe due to his performances for Serie A side, Napoli.
Osimhen has just 18 months left on his contract with the Italian side and has reportedly refused to sign a new deal with the Parthenopeans.
However, former Chelsea and England defender, Johnson believes the 24-year-old striker will eventually sign for the Blues, according to a report by Soccernet.
"Regardless of what is happening at Napoli, I believe Victor [Osimhen] would want to join Premier League side Chelsea anyway," he said.
"However, Osimhen will be kicking himself that this move could happen when the Blues are currently in transition," Johnson added.
The former defender believes that with Chelsea being a notable team, they will eventually bounce back from their current slump.
"But as long as Victor [Osimhen] is willing to wait 18 months or so for that to happen, then I am sure he would still want to sign for them [Chelsea] in January."
Chelsea will face competition from other top European giants like Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and others for the signature of the Super Eagles star.
