- The ex-Chiefs tactician also disclosed his main disappointment in the game
SuperSport United manager Gavin Hunt has disclosed why his team lost to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Tshwane Derby on Wednesday, November 29.
The Brazilians claimed a deserving 2-0 win over SuperSport United in the DStv Premiership tie at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Namibian striker Peter Shalulile continued his blistering form for Rulani Mokwena's side as he scored the first goal of the game in the 31st minute.
In the added time before the break, Lucas Rebeiro Costa scored a set-piece routine from the training ground to give Sundowns a comfortable win in the Tshwane Derby.
Hunt explained why his team lost to their fierce rivals despite starting the game on a good note, according to a report by FARPost.
"We had so many opportunities more than them. We could have won the game, and it is so disappointing that we did not," he said.
"But we will eventually commend the players because they are working. Of course, the level is up there, but still, we could have won the game.
"Before they scored, we could have been two-nil or three-nil up, but it is what it is. We wasted chances. Maybe they should be winning a little bit easier against teams like us. We did all we could, but we wasted chances."
SuperSports United's defeat against Sundowns left them third on the DStv table with 23 points, while the Masandawana increased their lead on top of the log.
