  • PSG clash with Newcastle United in the Champions League on Matchday 5 on Tuesday
  • The French champions lost the reverse fixture 4-1 and are looking to avenge that loss
  • Both teams lost their last fixtures in this competition and need wins to have any hope

Paris Saint-Germain welcome Newcastle United to Parc des Princes on Tuesday, November 28, in a massive UEFA Champions League clash.

Both teams lost last time out and neither can afford defeat when they meet. The Magpies thrashed the French champions in the first leg, and the hosts want revenge.

Luis Enrique's side sit second in Group F with six points, one behind leaders Borussia Dortmund. The English side are bottom of the group with four points in the group of death.

Therefore, a lot needs to happen for both these teams to go through to the Champions League Round of 16.

If Dortmund beats AC Milan, they go through, and PSG will progress if they beat Newcastle and Milan also fail to beat Dortmund.

Newcastle will be out if they lose to PSG and will finish last in the group if they lose to PSG and Milan beat Dortmund. Therefore, Matchday 5 could give us dramatic moments.

PSG want revenge vs Newcastle

Newcastle were on fire in the first leg, where they thrashed the Ligue 1 champions 4-1. The Parisians will need to be on top of their game to beat a solid Magpies side.

Midfielder, Vitinha admitted PSG are on a revenge mission, via Talksport:

"Maybe we have that little revenge feeling, but that stays inside us. Tomorrow is going to be a show, and that we win, that's the most important thing."

The PSG star says the team discussed their 4-1 defeat in England and are looking to put things right at home.

"They were great that night. It was a tough game, and we know that that will be the case again tomorrow, but both I and the team will really focus on tomorrow's game. After the reverse fixture, there might be an extra bit of will to win tomorrow, but regardless of the match, we always want to win."

The good news is PSG are in red-hot form. They hammered Monaco 5-2 in their last match and are firmly on top of Ligue 1, while Newcastle beat Chelsea over the weekend.

Before their win over the 10-man Blues, the Magpies had lost two straight games, so the Parisians will be feeling confident ahead of tonight's clash.
