Cristiano Ronaldo exhibited remarkable sportsmanship during Al-Nassr's penultimate AFC Champions League encounter against Persepolis at Al-Awwal Park on Monday evening.
The veteran forward's Al-Nassr were on the brink of confirming their spot in the knockout phase following four consecutive wins in Asia's premier club competition.
Eager to maintain their flawless record, the Riyadh-based giants, led by the 38-year-old superstar, initiated the game on the offensive.
From the onset, the Knights of Najd displayed their aggressive intent, which led to a moment of contention.
Ronaldo, who had scored four goals in his last four outings, received a pass within the box and attempted to navigate his way past defenders.
However, a challenge from a Persepolis player seemed to trip him, prompting the centre referee - in close proximity to the incident - to signal for a penalty in favour of the home team.
