- The Botswanan coach was furious following accusations of using 'black magic'
- Ramorebeli led Galaxy to a surprising win in Morocco vs. Wydad Athletic Club
Head coach of Jwaneng Galaxy, Morena Ramoreboli was left fuming after a Moroccan journalist accused him of using 'black magic' following his side's victory over Wydad Athletic Club.
Thabang Vincent Sesinyi's first-half strike was enough as the football minnows left North Africa with victory in the opening Group B game of the CAF Champions League.
Despite dominating the game, with 80 per cent of the possession, Wydad could not find a way back into the match against the Botswanan side.
During the post-match presser, a journalist tried to link Galaxy's victory to the use of 'black magic,' prompting a furious response from the coach.
"You are being unfair," Ramoreboli said at first in a video that has since gone viral on social media. "You are undermining me. You are saying that we won thanks to black magic? Don't disrespect us!"
Meanwhile, during Galaxy's warm-up, the players were spotted around the corner flag with one player kneeling down and seemingly pouring liquid onto the area, prompting heckling from the home fans.
The victory sends Galaxy to the top of Group B ahead of the former African champions, Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosa, and Simba SC of Tanzania, as reported by CAF's official website.
Wydad will next travel to Abidjan to face ASEC, while Galaxy welcomes Simba in Botswana.
Wydad Athletic Club were finalist in the inaugural African Football League, where they lost to South African giants, Mamelodi Sundowns. The Moroccan giants won the CAF Champions League in 2022.
