- Cristiano Ronaldo is apparently a big Vinicius Junior fan
- The Al-Nassr star sent the Real Madrid winger his match-worn jersey as a gift
- The jersey was from Portugal's clash against Liechtenstein
After Portugal beat Liechtenstein over a week ago, Cristiano Ronaldo sent a surprise gift to Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior.
After the departure of Eden Hazard, Vinicius took the No. 7 shirt previously worn by Ronaldo. The Brazilian has always shown his admiration for the Real Madrid legend.
On Saturday, November 25, Vinicius posted a picture of the jersey Ronaldo wore in Portugal's 2-0 win over Liechtenstein on November 16.
Ronaldo was perhaps responding to Vinicius pulling out the famous 'Calma' celebration when Real Madrid beat Valencia 5-1 in La Liga on November 12. The winger sustained another injury in Brazil's colours last week, and Ronaldo seemed to lift his spirits by sending him his jersey.
The 23-year-old winger expressed his regret about not playing with Ronaldo at Real Madrid. The Portuguese is arguably the club's greatest player, and despite leaving, he retains iconic status at the club.
That is a gift that Vinicius will certainly cherish for the rest of his life because it comes from a player he considers the GOAT.
Vinicius does 'Calma' celebration
Vinicius Junior made his mark late in Real Madrid's 5-1 win over Valencia by scoring a brace.
Vinicius' goal came following a great cross from his compatriot Rodrygo. He awkwardly chested to the back of the net before pulling off the 'Calma' Calma' celebration.
He pointed to his chest before assuring Real Madrid fans that Valencia would be beaten. Ronaldo debuted that celebration on April 21, 2012, during an El Clasico clash.
