The Pichichi Trophy, which is Spain’s equivalent of the Golden Boot Award, was won by Robert Lewandowski last season and he wants to win it again.

Lewandowski recently received his trophy for finishing first last season as the top scorer and was quizzed about his chances of winning it again.

As reported by 90 MIN, the Polish striker praised the young Englishman, but warned that the season was far from over.

"The season is long. Bellingham is a very good player, and now it is not easy to score many goals in La Liga,” he said.

How Bellingham and Lewandowski compare

Bellingham has taken La Liga by storm since joing from German side Borussia Dortmund, shooting to the top of the scoring charts in just 11 games.

As noted by Transfermarkt, Bellingham has already scored 10 goals in the league. Lewandowski has only scored seven goals thus far. Antoine Griezmann and Gerard Moreno are one ahead of him with eight goals.

Barcelona's struggles in front of goals

With Lewandoskwi struggling to find the back of the net consistently this season, Barca have also found it difficult. The Catalan club are the fourth highest scorers this season. Atletico Madrid, Real and Girona have all banged in more goals than them so far.

Bellingham surpasses Lewandowski on La Liga charts

Sports Brief recently reported how Jude Bellingham produced a masterclass to score one and assist another during a game against Girona.

The former Borussia Dortmund captain has hit the ground running at Real Madrid and has already become an automatic starter.

Bellingham's impressive goalscoring exploits have seen him surpass Robert Lewandowski on the La Liga scoring charts already.
