FootballDaniel Akpeyi: Ex-Super Eagles Star Speaks on the Current Struggles of Kaizer Chiefs
- Daniel Akpeyi has weighed in on Kaizer Chiefs' current poor form in the PSL
- The ex-Super Eagles goalkeeper is set to face his former team this weekend
- The 37-year-old could be in goal for Moroka Swallows when they face Chiefs
Former Super Eagles star, Daniel Akpeyi has joined the conversation about the struggles of Kaizer Chiefs, ahead of facing them with his new team, Moroka Swallows.
The ex-Nigerian international was on the books of the Amakhosi from 2019 to 2022 before joining Swallows last year.
Chiefs have been struggling for form since the beginning of the season, and their poor performance has led to the sacking of Molefi Ntseki as coach.
The tie between Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs will take place at the Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday, November 26.
Ahead of the clash, Akpeyi believes the Glamour Boys are still a dangerous side despite their current poor run of form, according to a report by Sowetan Live.
"Playing a team that is struggling is always difficult, so it is not going to be an easy game altogether. "They are looking for points everywhere while we will also be looking to sustain our position on the log.
"So, this will be a case of two lions fighting. But we know what to expect, and we are more than prepared for the test."
The Birds are currently on a good run of form, as they are unbeaten in their last five games in the DStv Premiership.
A win against the Glamour Boys this weekend will extend their unbeaten run and increase their chances of finishing in the top three.
