Pitso Mosimane is unarguably one of the most decorated coaches Africa has ever produced, ranking highly among the best after winning three CAF Champions League titles with two different teams and multiple domestic league titles.

'Jingles', as he is affectionately known in many circles, is currently out of a job after leaving Al Wahda FC by mutual consent. In recent years, Kaizer Chiefs have been implored to move in for the 59-year-old to solve their managerial crisis.

The Premier Soccer League in South Africa was treated to the finest of Mosimane's tactical nous as he ran the league with Mamelodi Sundowns. But when it came to dropping memorable quotes, the former Al Ahly boss also has his way with words.

Sports Brief relives some of his most famous quotes from a coaching career that began in 2007.

1. Mosimane vs Moroka Swallows (2013)

After putting Moroka Swallows' dominance over Masandawana to an end in 2013, Mosimane faced the press and did not mince his words on the 2-1 result in his favour.

"It's about time we sort Swallows out; it's about time. Too much talk, but now the talk stops; it's finished. They deserved to be beaten," he said, as quoted by SNL.

2. Mosimane vs Teko Modise (2017)

Teko Modise surprised many when, in his memoir, The Curse of Teko Modise, he painted the picture of a strained relationship between himself and Mosimane, especially during the last years of his time as a Mamelodi Sundowns player.

Mosimane gave the allegations a wide berth by saying:

"I don't want to talk about Teko; let's give him a break. He knows the contribution I made to his career. Let Teko be on a honeymoon, and let's leave it like that. He wrote a book; let him sell the book. Let’s not spoil his book, let’s be nice," he said, as quoted by the Sowetan Live.

3. Mosimane vs camera person (2016)

After a goalless draw versus Chippa United in 2026, Mosimane picked up a battle with one of the camera persons for SuperSport TV.

"I'm disappointed with the camera guy. This guy puts the camera on my face. SuperSport help us; you can't put a camera on my face, trigger our emotions after a beautiful football game like this, so bring professionals. He won't get a reaction and then I push the camera away and then Pitso is going to be fined and then it's Pitso again," he said, as quoted by GOAL.

4. Mosimane vs Dane Klate (2014)

Mosimane wasn't impressed after his side lost 2-1 to Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup, with Daine Klate going down easily in his opinion.

"I mean, there is a player at Pirates, he is on the floor every minute, what is this? The next thing he shoots the ball and then it's a goal. No, let's have professionalism. We lost not because of that, but integrity is important."

5. Mosimane vs Rooney and Lampard (2022)

Mosimane has always been vocal and confident about his own abilities and has asked European clubs to take a chance on African coaches.

He particularly zeroed in on former English internationals, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard, who despite acclaimed careers, have struggled to crack the coaching code.

"But Europe is not ready for Africans; Europe is not ready for us. You want to tell me Wayne Rooney, who's just a coach now, is better than me. Are you serious? Frank Lampard is coaching Chelsea now. Excuse me, but can I also have a gig? Give me the Chelsea players," he said, as quoted by Soccer Bullet.

Mosimane is the gift that has never stopped giving.
