Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire has responded to Ghanaian MP, Isaac Adongo, following his apology to the English player about his earlier comments on the centre-back.
Honourable Adongo went viral last year for comparing the defender's Manchester United performances to the economic woes of the country.
Ghana's economy has struggled under the leadership of the vice president, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
On Tuesday, the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central apologised to the defender while praising him for a positive transformation.
"Mr Speaker, you'll remember last year I was very quick to compare my big brother, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to Harry Maguire. Mr Speaker, I now apologize to Maguire. Honourable Kyei Mensah, you got angry when I used your defender," he said on the floor of Parliament, as sighted on social media.
"Mr Speaker, today Harry Maguire has been able to turn the corner around and he is a transformational footballer. Maguire is now scoring goals for Manchester United. Maguire is now a key player for Manchester United."
Maguire replied to the post on X, accepting the MP's apology while inviting him to Old Trafford.
"MP Issac Adongo, apology accepted. See you at Old Trafford soon," he reposted.
Maguire is enjoying a decent campaign this season, making 11 appearances across all competitions this season, per Transfermarkt.
Ghanaian MP apologises to Harry Maguire
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Honourable Isaac Adongo has finally apologised to Harry Maguire a year after mocking the Manchester United defender.
Honourable Adongo went viral during one of his submissions last year after comparing the footballer to the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Sports Brief also reported that former England captain Wayne Rooney described the joke by Ghanaian MP Isaac Adongo, comparing Harry Maguire to Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, as 'crazy'.
The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency went viral for saying Dr Bawumia was an 'economic Maguire'.
According to Adongo, Maguire has been poor since joining Manchester United despite showing promise during his time at Leicester City.
