- The Ghanaian MP mocked Maguire last year with a comparison to the vice president
- The defender has been in decent form for Manchester United in recent matches
The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Honourable Isaac Adongo has finally apologised to Harry Maguire a year after mocking the Manchester United defender.
Honourable Adongo went viral during one of his submissions last year after comparing the footballer to the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
However, in Parliament on Tuesday, the MP praised Maguire for his 'positive transformation' while criticising Dr Bawumia for the country's economic woes.
"Mr Speaker, you'll remember last year I was very quick to compare my big brother, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to Harry Maguire. Mr Speaker, I now apologise to Maguire. Honourable Kyei Mensah, you got angry when I used your defender," he said on the floor of Parliament, as sighted on social media.
Honourable Adongo praised Maguire for 'turning the corner', becoming a 'transformational footballer', and for becoming a key player for the English giants.
"As for our Maguire, he is now roaming at the IMF with a cup in hand. Our Maguire is able to get pensioners to leave their homes and come and protest."
Maguire has been key for Erik ten Hag's men this season despite a tough start to the season for Man United. The Engish defender has made 11 appearances across all competitions this season, per Transfermarkt.
