Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro has denied reports linking him with Egyptian Premier League giants Zamalek concerning the vacant managerial role at the club.
Peseiro, who recently signed a contract extension as Super Eagles boss, was tipped as a replacement for Juan Carlos Osorio, who was sacked a few days ago due to poor performance.
The Portuguese manager is currently under fire as the Nigeria national team coach after dropping points in the Super Eagles' back-to-back games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a 1-1 draw against Lesotho and Zimbabwe in their first two qualifiers and have just two points out of a possible six.
According to reports from the Egyptian website Kooora, as per The Punch, the former Porto coach was one of the managers who reportedly submitted resumes for the vacant coaching role at Zamalek.
In contrast to the reports, Peseiro claimed that he is only focused on Nigeria's job and dismissed rumours linking him with a move to Zamalek.
"At the present, all my focus is on the Nigerian national team [Super Eagles] only," the 63-year-old said.
"There are no negotiations from Zamalek in any case, and I am not thinking about anything else."
Peseiro needs to get Nigeria back to the top again, with some stakeholders calling for his immediate sack due to the team's recent abysmal performance.
