David Beckham is reportedly keen to sign Manchester United legend David de Gea for Inter Miami.

The Major League Soccer club have been active in the transfer market in recent months, with the side sealing some big transfers.

Back in July, the Miami-based outfit made their biggest signing in history in the shape of Lionel Messi, who joined them on a free transfer.

According to ESPN, Messi, who officially joined Miami after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, signed a contract through the end of the 2025 MLS season.

Inter Miami went on to complete the signings of Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, with the duo's move reuniting them with Messi at the club.

Beckham want De Gea at Inter Miami

Daily Star now reports that Beckham, who co-owns Inter Miami, is keen on making David de Gea his next marquee signing for the club.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been without a club since he left Old Trafford back in June, following a decade-long stint with the Red Devils.

De Gea had initially courted interests from Real Betis, Valencia and the Saudi Professional League.

A move to Serie A side Inter Milan to succeed Andre Onana, who had replaced him at Man United, was also mooted.

However, none of the moves materialised, with the Spaniard still without a club.

Why De Gea turned down Inter move

Sports Brief also reported on the reason why David De Gea turned down a potential move to Inter.

He was heavily linked with the Nerazzuri in August 2023, after the departure of Onana, but the move did not materialize.

Part of the reason he turned down the Inter deal was because the Nerazzuri reportedly offered him a salary of €5m (£4.3m) net.
