Displaying his brilliance on his debut, Zaire-Emery adorned his performance with a striking goal in the first half.

At a mere 17 years and 255 days old, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder carved his place as the youngest debutant for the France men's national team since Maurice Gastiger in 1914, as recorded by Opta Statistics.

Capitalizing on a precise cross from Kingsley Coman following an impressive run down the flank, Zaire-Emery unleashed a first-time shot into the net's top corner, propelling France to a commanding three-nil lead within just 16 minutes in the first half.

According to BR Football, Zaire-Emery became the youngest French scorer in over a century following his goal against Gibraltar.

Zaire-Emery's performance

Stationed in a pivotal role alongside former PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot, the 17-year-old showcased remarkable maturity, seamlessly fitting in among his seasoned international peers.

Despite his youth, Zaire-Emery exuded confidence, orchestrating the midfield and surging forward when needed, as France completely dominated the opposition, Gibraltar, in Group B.

Regrettably, his dream debut was cut short by an injury, prompting France manager Didier Deschamps to substitute the rising PSG star after a mere 19 minutes.

Despite his brief time on the field, the young talent made a lasting impression during his first appearance for Les Bleus.
