Luka Modric has explained the motivation behind his unwavering commitment to delivering stellar performances for Real Madrid, even as he navigates the challenges of advancing age.
At 38 years old, except for his inaugural season with Los Blancos, Modric has consistently displayed exceptional prowess since his transition from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, contributing significantly to the team's extensive trophy collection, which notably includes five Champions League titles.
Despite entering the later stages of his career, the Croatian midfield virtuoso has logged an impressive 15 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti's squad across various competitions.
Yet, his recent playing time paints a bleak picture. Despite featuring in 11 La Liga matches, Luka has secured only four starts, averaging a mere 39 minutes per game, as reported by Sofascore.
Modric expressed his commitment to Real Madrid by stating that he intends to keep giving his best and putting in maximum effort for the club.
“I'm gonna continue giving everything for Real Madrid,” he said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
While uncertainties persist regarding his future with the club, the recipient of the 2018 Ballon d'Or remains steadfast in his commitment, attributing his determination to Madrid being more than just a workplace.
Modric perceives the club as his "home," a sentiment he holds dear despite being originally from Croatia.
“Real Madrid means everything to me, it's part of my life and my family. Real Madrid is a way of being. I was born in Croatia but I feel at home here”.
