  • Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga was injured during training with the French national team
  • The Les Bleus star collided with Ousmane Dembele and is set for a long spell on the sidelines
  • Real Madrid will be compensated for Camavinga’s injury as it happened on international duty

Eduardo Camavinga suffered a knee ligament sprain in a collision with former Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembele during a French national team training session.

Consequently, the 20-year-old is anticipated to be sidelined until 2024, dealing a significant blow to Real Madrid and their multiple title aspirations.

With Aurelien Tchouameni already facing a six-week absence due to a foot injury, Los Blancos now find themselves without the services of Camavinga, who had been Tchouameni's direct replacement in the defensive midfield position within Carlo Ancelotti's 4-4-2 system, Football Espana.

The silver lining for Real Madrid is the FIFA compensation for Camavinga's injury sustained on international duty.

Marca reports that the Spanish giants will receive €20,548 per day, resulting in a total payment of €1,232,880 for the expected two-month recovery period.

However, this compensation offers little solace for Real Madrid, who would much prefer to have Camavinga available for the next eight weeks. His injury leaves them severely lacking options in the defensive midfield as they move forward.

Madrid fans slam Dembele over Camavinga injury

Meanwhile, as Sports Brief previously reported, Dembele may want to avoid Real Madrid supporters for the time being.

The Paris Saint-Germain attacker is not the most popular person among the fanbase after he inadvertently injured Camavinga.

The duo collided during a training session with the French national team, with Camavinga injuring his knee in the aftermath.

Camavinga injured during training

As Sports Brief has previously reported, Real Madrid have a new injury concern to stress over in the coming weeks.

Camavinga had to leave the French team’s camp with a potential knee injury after colliding with Dembele in training.

Arda Guler, Thibaut Courtois, and Eder Militao are just some of the other Los Blancos stars who are currently injured.
