As noted by Football Espana, the former Manchester City star has been linked with an exit after just five months.

Where could Gundogan go?

The publication noted that the midfielder is keen to move to Galatasaray and even had his agent reportedly speak to the Turkish side after their UEFA Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

It’s further reported that he wants to represent the Turkish side before he ultimately retires, and is willing to speak to Barcelona about a move.

Gundogan’s agent addresses recent rumours

Gundogan’s agent, who is also his brother, has since spoken about the rumours surrounding the player, denying that there’s any truth to them, Metro noted.

“The reports in the press these days about Ilkay do not reflect the truth,” Ilhan Gundogan said.
“I did not meet anyone from Galatasaray before the Bayern Munich game to talk about Ilkay. There was no development, meeting or anything that came to us in this regard,” he added.

He continued that he didn’t understand where the rumours came from, as his brother was very happy at Barca.

Where Gundogan’s rumours could have started

Despite making 17 appearances for the Blaugrana this season, some think the German is unhappy at the club.

Many felt that he burnt his bridges with the Spanish side when he openly criticised the team after their defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico.

Ilkay Gundogan slams Barcelona teammates

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ilkay Gundogan expressed his profound dissatisfaction with his teammates after Barcelona's defeat to Real Madrid.

The Catalan giants suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of their intense rivals in the season's first Clásico on Saturday afternoon.

Before the match at Catalunya, the Spanish champions had maintained an unbeaten record in La Liga but found themselves one point behind Carlo Ancelotti's side in the league standings.
