  • Brentford striker, Bryan Mbeumo is being trolled on social media over his age
  • At 24, he looks a bit older, probably due to his hair, which has reduced volume
  • The Cameroonian responded to fans on social media with a cheeky question

Bryan Mbeumo has found it funny that football fans are questioning his age, with many thinking he is probably older than the 24 he claims to be.

He is one of the main players for Brentford since they gained promotion to the Premier League in 2021 after 74 years in the lower divisions of English football.

He has been deployed in various positions, including on both wings, as a centre-forward, and even as a wing-back and helped the club to the best of his ability to maintain their league status.

Per Transfermarkt, the Cameroonian forward has contributed six goals and two assists this season, playing all 90 minutes in all of the Bees’ 12 league games.

Mbeumo’s cheeky response to fans

A trend began on X (formerly Twitter), with fans asking why Mbeumo has not gotten a move to a top club despite him being a consistent performer for Brentford.

A Chelsea fan, CFC Janty, suggested that because he looks older than claimed, clubs are worried about his longevity if they sign him, a problem that has plagued some African footballers in the past.

Mbeumo quoted that post with a response, cheekily asking fans what he could do to look younger, with many suggesting he should go to Turkey for a hair transplant.

Though he represents Cameroon internationally, he was born in France to a French mother and a Douala-born father and represented the European country at the youth levels.

Toney promises strong return

Sports Brief has also reported on Ivan Toney speaking on his FA ban after written reasons were announced. It took a while, but he has promised a big return.

The Brentford striker was suspended for eight months after he was found guilty of 232 breaches of FA betting rules and diagnosed with betting addiction.

The first four months of Toney's ban were away from the sport but he is back training and has clubs lining up for him in January, including Chelsea and Arsenal.
