FootballCristiano Ronaldo: Al Nassr Coach Makes Bold Statement About Star Player, Salutes His Longevity
- Manager of Al-Nassr, Luis Castro has heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo
- The coach described his team captain's scintillating form as 'incredible'
- Ronaldo has been in red-hot form since the start of the 2023/24 season
Al-Nassr manager, Luis Castro has praised Cristiano Ronaldo's outstanding performance since the beginning of the new league campaign.
The Portuguese star faced a challenging 2022, leading to his early departure from Manchester United.
However, Ronaldo has been in exceptional form since the turn of the year, reaching even greater heights in the ongoing campaign.
According to Transfermarkt, the 38-year-old, seemingly improving like fine wine, has amassed 16 goals in 17 matches across all competitions for his Saudi side.
To put this into perspective, Ronaldo has scored 45 goals in 2023, surpassing Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe and Bayern Munich's Harry Kane by two goals, and falling three short of Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland.
While Ronaldo's goal-scoring abilities have never been in question, his relentless drive to succeed, even after a storied career in Europe, has taken Castro by surprise.
"Sometimes it surprises me that he is 38 years old and will soon turn 39 in a couple of months. But his dedication and passion for this game have not waned a bit. He still has the same passion and dedication as when he was young," the coach said, as cited by @cristiano7TheG on X.
The 62-year-old coach went on to commend Ronaldo's intrinsic motivation, highlighting how it distinguishes him from the average footballer at the same age.
"He trains hard every day, always remains motivated, and stays focused on his game. This is the outcome you are witnessing in every match."
Castro also boasted about the surreal statistics of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, acknowledging the achievements of Ronaldo as he approaches the twilight of his career.
