The Super Eagles star has been linked with a move to the Premier League side since last summer, but he is still under contract with Italian side, Napoli.
Osimhen's current contract with the Serie A champions will expire in the summer of 2025, with several top sides said to be monitoring the situation.
In a recent interview on Obionepodcast, Mikel Obi explained the part he wanted play in helping Osimhen join Mauricio Pochettino's side, as also reported by Daily Post.
"Next season, I know you are gonna come to Chelsea man," he said about Osimhen. "I am telling you - I am going to be the agent to broker that deal."
The former Stoke City midfielder also admitted that Chelsea had been lacking a player of Osimhen's quality since back when Ivorian legend, Didier Drogba left the club.
