Real Madrid narrowed the gap to their title rivals, Girona, with a resounding 5-1 victory over Ruben Baraja's Valencia side.
Carlo Ancelotti's squad wasted no time declaring their intentions, as fullback Dani Carvajal opened the scoring for Los Blancos just three minutes into the game.
Following Carvajal's goal, Brazilian forward Rodrygo de Goes delivered a masterclass performance. The 23-year-old played a pivotal role in the four additional goals scored by Real Madrid against Valencia.
Rodrygo assisted his compatriot Vinicius Jr for a brilliant finish in the 42nd minute and replicated the feat for Vinicius once again in the 49th minute.
In a dazzling display reported by Goal, the Santos academy graduate showcased his skills, breaking through Valencia's defence to notch one in for himself and would subsequently round up the scoring in the 84th minute, courtesy of a brilliant pass from fullback Francisco Garcia.
Although Rodrygo narrowly missed being named Player of the Match, as reported by Marca, his sensational performance did not go unnoticed, with fans praising his skills and sharing their reactions.

Rodrygo backed to shine again
Sports Brief in a previous report stated Rodrygo is having a tough start to the 2023/24 season for Real Madrid, but the La Liga club is solidly behind the Brazilian forward despite his struggles this campaign.
While Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior are hugging the headlines for their performances this season, the 22-year-old forward has managed just one goal in over 800 minutes for Los Blancos.
According to Football Espana, President Florentino Perez still sees Rodrygo with the potential to become one of the best players in the world and has backed him to find his best form again.
