Scunthorpe

Keegan made his professional debut for Scunthorpe against Peterborough United in 1968, aged 17. He played 29 league starts in his first campaign for the club. He spent three seasons with Scunthorpe before transferring to Liverpool.

Scunthorpe sold Keegan for around $40,500 to Liverpool in 1971. He began his career as a midfielder before Liverpool manager Bill Shankly converted him to a forward. Kevin spent six seasons in Anfield, then moved to Hamburg SV in West Germany in 1977. The club paid a then-British transfer fee of $614,000 to land the talented striker. He was nicknamed Mighty Mouse by Hamburg SV fans.

His debut for Soton came in a 2-0 win over Manchester City. He helped the club finish sixth place in the First Division in his debut season, scoring 11 goals.

Newcastle United
