  • Chelsea and Manchester City played a cracking game, which ended in a 4-4 draw
  • The Blues matched the best team in the world and came back three times to get a point
  • Mauricio Pochettino is delighted with his players’ steel and fans so far this season

Chelsea are gradually coming up with big performances and results this season after a slow start and are yet to lose against any top 6 sides.

The Blues put up a spirited performance against arguably the best team in the world, Manchester City, and came back three times to secure a point in a pulsating 4-4 draw.

The performance against Pep Guardiola's team came in the same week after they tore apart nine-man Tottenham Hotspur to win 4-1 away at their rivals stadium.

Per The Athletic, former City stars Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer were vital to Chelsea's victory, having a say in the game against their former side as both got on the scoresheet.

Pochettino's message to players and fans

Mauricio Pochettino again was impressed with his team’s spirited performance and the atmosphere in the stadium despite not getting the win.

He shared a message to his players and the fans on his Instagram page after the classic encounter against the champions.

“We want to build something special at Chelsea, and this is exactly the way we want the players to perform and feel,” a part of the message reads.

He admitted what going into the international break with the feeling would do for the players, but for momentum's sake, he wished they play another game sooner.

Next for the Blues is a trip to St. James Park to play Newcastle United after the international break, followed by games against Brighton and Manchester United.

Pochettino snubs Guardiola at full-time

Sports Brief previously reported on Pochettino snubbing Guardiola at full-time and storming at the match officials led by Anthony Taylor to give a piece of his mind.

It was quite a fair performance from the official who had overseen some games involving the two-time Champions League winner in the past and was scandalous.
