Mbappe was widely expected to leave the club to join Real Madrid, but he said he was not leaving. The club wanted the France captain to sign a new deal because they feared he would leave on a free transfer next summer.
They left him out of the club's pre-season tour of Asia, but they came to an agreement, and he was allowed to train with the team, per Sky Sports. Real Madrid are still expected to sign the Frenchman next year.
Since then, he has scored 13 goals in Ligue 1, making him the top scorer in Ligue 1.
