During this period, the Colombian singer has communicated her sentiments through various channels, with her music being the most prominent.
The collaboration with Argentinian producer Bizarrap, widely seen as a direct message to her Piquer and his current girlfriend Clara Chia, resonated globally.
Nevertheless, the ex-Spanish international has maintained a silence until this moment.
Pique opens up about separation from Shakira
Pique has chosen to break his silence and provide insights into the entire situation with his former partner.
During a conversation with broadcaster Jordi Baste on the Catalan radio station 'Rac1,' via Marca, the Spaniard shared reflections on the events involving the Colombian singer.
"People don't know ten percent of what really happened," Pique said of their separation, and claimed that "they are basing themselves on information that for the most part is not real.
"If I had given importance to everything that was said about me, I would be locked in my flat or I would have thrown myself off the sixth floor.
According to People, Pique began a relationship with the Pop star after the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, which Spain won, and the footballer was central to the victory.
They have two sons together, Milan and Sasha, but divorced last June on allegations that the footballer cheated on his wife in their matrimonial home while she was away.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Shakira and Pique have reached an agreement over the custody of their two children following their break-up, their representatives said on Tuesday.
The 45-year-old ''Hips Don't Lie'' songstress plans to move to Miami with the couple's two sons, and Pique will reportedly have the boys for ten days each month plus during the school holidays.
The couple, who had been living together for years on the outskirts of Barcelona, announced in June 2022 that they were separating amid cheating allegations.
