FootballDele Alli: Sean Dyche Happy With Everton Star Despite Not Playing a Minute This Season

- He is recovering from an injury and mental health stemming from a family issue
- Sean Dyche has extolled the former Tottenham midfielder despite not playing
Dele Alli has received praise from Everton boss Sean Dyche, who expressed his satisfaction with the midfielder despite not playing a single minute yet this season.
Alli teamed up with Everton ahead of the new season after returning injured from his Besiktas loan spell, as well as dealing with mental health issues which emanated from his childhood and upbringing.
His contract is set to expire at the end of the current season; while it is uncertain whether Everton will renew it, Dyche's comments suggest his future could lie elsewhere aside from playing.
Dyche praises Alli's input at Everton
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is limited to gym work as he recovers from a groin injury, but his manager has disclosed where else he has been helpful to the team.
Speaking in an interview with beIN Sports, Dyche explained that Alli understands tactics and offers input on performances.
"He is very willing to share and give an opinion. It's a case of us having a coffee in the canteen. You'll say: 'Hey, Dele, how is it going? What are your thoughts?' He'll point out little things - 'I thought that, I thought this'. It's just a natural combination where we like players to share a view," he said.
The English manager added that the player's football knowledge improved while working with former Spurs boss, Mauricio Pochettino.
The interview video was shared on social media. The player reacted with a handshake emoji, affirming his manager's words and subtly hinting he could be set for a coaching career.
