Liverpool ace Luis Diaz’s father has been pictured for the first time since his kidnapping by the left-wing guerillas.
In what has been a harrowing two weeks for the Diaz family, they can now breathe a sigh of relief as police sources and local media in Colombia confirmed Luis Manuel Díaz has been recovered.
Luis Diaz’s dad was abducted on October 28 in Barrancas, the family's hometown. He was kidnapped alongside Diaz’s mother, who was freed hours later.
As cited by BBC, local media report that Mr Diaz was handed over to United Nations and Catholic church officials.

FootballBefore officially being released to his family, Diaz’s father will undergo a medical examination in the city of Valledupar.
According to SportBible, Mr Diaz appears to be in good health, with little to no signs of mistreatment.
On social media platform X, a user identified as Pipe Sierra shared an image of Mr Diaz alongside a catholic priest.
Hours after Diaz's father was released, the winger was in the starting XI for Liverpool against Toulouse.
On the day of the kidnapping, Mr Diaz was travelling alongside his wife (Luis Diaz’s mother) when they were stunned by gunmen at a petrol station in Barrancas in the northern province of La Guajira.
Diaz’s mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was later abandoned by the kidnappers as police closed in, but the dad was dragged away. The abduction was carried out by members of the National Liberation Army (ELN).
