Erling Haaland could be the next big superstar heading to Real Madrid after the Spanish giants reignited their interest in the Manchester City striker.

The Norwegian striker caught the eye of the Spanish giants after a superb first season in England, where he led the Citizens to the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup titles, scoring 52 goals in the process.

According to GOAL, Haaland is back on Real Madrid’s recruitment radar as they are reported to have dropped long-standing interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

The report also claims that there is a release clause in the Manchester City striker’s deal that teams outside of England could trigger in the summer of 2024, despite his present contract set to run until 2027.

A sum of between €180 million and €200 million would be required to push a big-money deal for Haaland as Florentino Perez continues to rebuild the Real Madrid team after signing long-term contracts with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde.

Haaland’s agent spotted in Madrid

Meanwhile, the agent of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland was seen at the Santiago Bernabeu before the Spanish club’s Champions League victory against Sporting Braga on Wednesday, November 8, Tribal Football reports.

Rafaela Pimenta, who represents Haaland and several other superstars, was seen in Spain after reports emanated that the Spanish giants had renewed their interest in the Norwegian striker.

Rafaela, however, played down any suggestion that she was in Madrid to hold transfer negotiations with La Liga giants Real Madrid for the Manchester City striker.

Erling Haaland picks Drogba’s celebration

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Erling Haaland has chosen between Chelsea legend Didier Drogba and English pundit Gary Lineker's celebration after scoring his first goal since the Ballon d'Or ceremony.

Haaland was beaten to the 2023 Ballon d'Or by Lionel Messi, but he picked up the Gerd Muller trophy for the best striker, scoring 56 goals in the year under review.

His award was presented to him by former England international Gary Lineker, who is a constant presence in the punditry space of English football.
