Paris Saint-Germain's 17-year-old midfielder, Warren Zaïre-Emery has received his first call-up to the French national team.

Zaire-Emery has been a key player for PSG under Luis Enrique this season and has produced eye-catching performances in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

He has started 13 games this season, and the call-up comes at a crucial time, per Transfermarkt. France are getting ready for Euro 2024, and he could solidify a spot in the team under Didier Deschamps.

"Given what he's achieved since the last camp, he's here with us," said Deschamps. "He has all the qualities to be at the very highest level. There's a lot of competition in his position. But he's showing enormous potential with his club and at his age. This is an important step," he said, via Ligue 1.

If he earns his first cap, he will become the third-youngest player to represent France after Julien Verbrugghe (16 years, ten months, and six days in 1906) and Maurice Gastiger (17 years, four months, and five days in 1914).

France have already qualified for the tournament, so it will be a great opportunity for the youngster to impress the boss.

After learning about the good news, PSG players mobbed the youngster to celebrate, per a video shared on X by PSG Hub.

Zaïre Emery makes history

Sports Brief earlier reported on Zaïre Emery making Champions League history in February.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder made history as he became the youngest starter in a Champions League knockout game ever.

Emery started for the French side as they took on Bayern Munich in the Round of 16 clash in France. Sadly, it wasn't a dream debut for the youngster as the French side were beaten 1-0 by the Bavarians.
