Several dignitaries attended the event, including PSL acting CEO Mato Madlala, Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi, and Maritzburg United coach Zipho Dlangalala.

Friends, current and former teammates, well-wishers, and family members were also present.

In her remarks, Ntuli’s wife fought back the tears before paying tribute to her husband during the emotional memorial service. She said, as per iDiski Times:

“This is painful, I just don’t know. But what I do know you were in immense pain, I comforted you but I couldn’t fix you. I know you fought, I saw you, I saw your last tears, I wiped them and I begged you to fight some more.
“This is tough, this is painful, I love you. You left me Bongi – I just don’t know where to go from here. What am I supposed to do?
“[While in hospital] you said I should prepare our traditional wedding, but I’m preparing for the funeral now. How do you leave me like this? Who is going to call me Sphondo [forehead].”

Ntuli’s father reacts to son’s passing

Meanwhile, Bonginkosi Ntuli’s dad has been left devastated following the passing of his footballer son, who succumbed to cancer.

Reacting to his son’s death, Thulani Ntuli stated that the family had lost the most important person.

He stated that the former Mamelodi Sundowns striker had been helpful to the family, adding that he had been acting as the head of the family.

How Ntuli once saved AmaZulu

Sports Brief earlier reported that Ntuli may no longer be alive, but his memory still lives on, especially in AmaZulu's history.

The South African striker's performances in the 2019-20 season saved the Heroes from being relegated to the lower division.

The 32-year-old striker played a pivotal role that season, as his goals earned AmaZulu crucial points as they finished four points above the drop zone at the end of the campaign.
