Rasmus Hojlund has broken a Manchester United record despite the Red Devils' 3-4 defeat against FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.
The Dane was part of the United squad that surrendered a two-goal advantage to suffer a heartbreaking defeat on Wednesday at the Parken Stadium.
According to Sky Sports, Hojlund opened the scoring inside three minutes of the Group A clash before he doubled the advantage in the 28th minute.
However, the visitors' two-goal lead was short-lived as FC Copenhagen pulled one back on the stroke of the first half through Mohammed Elyounoussi.
Diogo Goncalves, Lucas Lerager, and Roony Bardghji also scored for the hosts, with Bruno Fernandes getting his name on the scoresheet from the penalty spot.
Hojlund makes Man United history
The Mirror reports that Hojlund's brace during the UCL tie saw him ink his name in the club's history books despite the defeat.
According to the publication, the Danish striker is now the first United player to score five Champions League goals in his first four games in the tournament.
The previous record was held by Dimitar Berbatov, who bagged four in his first two games after joining the Red Devils from Tottenham Hotspur but failed to find the back of the net in his next two outings.
Hojlund joined the Manchester-based club in the summer from Italian side, Atalanta.
