The German Bundesliga teams that have never been relegated
FootballEurope’s Top 5 Leagues: 3 Unbeaten Teams Left After Chelsea Beat Tottenham
- Arsenal and Juventus are the only teams to have gone a full season unbeaten in Europe's top 5 leagues
- The feats are no longer achievable in their respective leagues after Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur
- Three teams from France and Germany are still on track to achieve this record
Going a whole season undefeated is no mean feat, and only two teams have achieved this in the top 5 European Leagues - Arsenal in the 2003/04 Premier League season and Juventus in the 2011/12 Italian Serie A season.
This feat is only possible this season in two of the top 5 European Leagues - the German Bundesliga and the French Ligue 1, in which there are teams that are yet to taste defeat.
Tottenham Hotspur were the last unbeaten team in the Premier League but were beaten 4-1 by rivals Chelsea, who are coached by their former boss Mauricio Pochettino, in a dramatic London derby.
Sports Brief looks at the only three teams yet to taste defeat in Germany and France, including a surprise name, as first analysed by Planet Football.
1. Bayern Munich
The Bavarian giants are dominant in Germany and have won the last 11 league titles, including a final day Bundesliga title win last season after Borussia Dortmund drew on the final day, but have never achieved an unbeaten season.
They are currently second on the league log after 10 games, having won eight games and drawn two, including a pulsating encounter with Bayer Leverkusen, who have also yet to taste defeat.
2. Bayer Leverkusen
Xabi Alonso is doing wonders at Leverkusen, with his team yet to lose a game in all competitions this season. They sit top of the German league table after 10 games.
The Black and Red have never won the title. They finished as runners-up thrice in four years between 1998 to 2002, which earned them the nickname "Bayer Neverkusen".

Football3. OGC Nice
One of the biggest surprises in European football this season is OGC Nice, who are top of the French Ligue 1 table after 11 games, a point ahead of Paris Saint-Germain. They currently have the best defence in Europe.
The Eaglets last won the league in 1959 and still have a long way to go to break that drought. They've won seven and drawn four of 11 games this season. The club is owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is also expected to buy a 25% stake in Manchester United.
