FootballChristian Pulisic: AC Milan Boss Provides Update on USMNT Winger After UCL Injury
- Christian Pulisic limped off with an apparent injury against Paris Saint-Germain
- The AC Milan star looked to have hurt his hamstring in the final minutes of the tie
- Coach Stefano Pioli has issued an update on the American winger after the game
AC Milan will hope Christian Pulisic's injury is not too serious after Stefano Pioli provided an update on the American following his substitution in the final minutes of the 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain.
Pulisic missed Milan's shock loss to Udinese at the San Siro on Saturday but surprisingly started the UEFA Champions League game against the Parisians.
Per CBS Sports, he was close to completing the game before going down on the stroke of 90 minutes, clutching his hamstring. He was replaced by Alessandro Florenzi to see out the win for the Italian club.
Pioli's update on Pulisic's injury
Speaking after the game, as quoted by Goal, Pioli was hopeful it would not be severe but - simultaneously - was worried as it was the same as last time.
"It seems like a cramp, but in the same place as last time... We really hope it's just that," he said.
The USMNT star has scored four goals and assisted two since moving to the Italian club in the summer after four years at Chelsea. He was part of the mass exodus at the London club.
Per Transfermarkt, the 24-year-old is no stranger to muscle injuries and famously limped off during the Blues' 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the 2020 FA Cup final.
His injury history contributed to the Blues letting him go.

Pulisic admits Chelsea regret
Sports Brief also reported that Pulisic expressed his regrets over Chelsea and his lack of opportunities to be the main guy during his four-year stint at the London club.
