The Premier Soccer League (PSL) is rated as one of the best leagues in Africa, with a lot of top players from around the globe featuring in the action.
The top scorer in the league is always awarded the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot at the end of the season.
The award was named after the legendary Orlando Pirates striker, who scored 18 goals in the 2003 season before tragically dying in a car accident.

Sports Brief takes a look at the top scorers in the PSL since the new edition kicked off in the 1996/97 season.
Bafana Bafana legend, Siyabonga Nomvethe currently tops the chart with 123 goals, but he could lose his top spot to Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Peter Shalulile.
The Namibian international is edging towards equalling the former Udinese striker's record, as he is currently just 14 goals behind.
Collins Mbesuma still holds the record for the most goals scored in a season, which is 25, according to GOAL.

Nomvethe slams compatriots over PSL record

FootballEarlier, Sports Brief reported on former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs forward, Nomvethe slamming South African strikers in a controversial fashion.
The former Bafana Bafana striker wants locals to be more lethal in front of goal, adding it would not be nice if a foreigner breaks his long-standing record.
"Every time there is a foreigner that comes to our league, they do well, and it tells you that our own strikers are weak," Nomvethe ranted.
