Kylian Mbappe was widely expected to join Real Madrid in the summer after refusing to sign a contract extension at Pris Saint-Germain.
A few days ago, Los Blancos released a statement, strongly denying rumours they have entered negotiations with the France international.
PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi has now stated he wants Mbappe to stay and he is not prepared to let him leave for free next summer.
The 24-year-old's contract with PSG ends in 2024 and there is no indication that he will sign a new deal at Parc des Princes. Multiple reports have indicated that he will sign for Real Madrid.
Mbappe and PSG had a highly publicised contract standoff in the summer. He was omitted from their pre-season tour of Asia and it seemed like it was only a matter of time before he left.
However, according to Sky Sports, the highly-rated French international then told the Paris-based club he would not leave and was prepared to sit out the entire season.
Saudi Pro League side, Al-Hilal even made a world record €300 million bid to buy Mbappe, but a deal did not materialise.
PSG boss explains stance on Mbappe
Al-Khelaifi recently said he never saw Real Madrid's statement, adding that Mbappe continued to achieve great things and many took him for granted.
"Nobody played two World Cup finals and even scored a hat-trick. I’ll say it again: Kylian is the best in the world, and it’s great to see him at the helm of PSG and France. He’s having a positive effect on our young people, helping us to build our future," he said, via GOAL.

Will Mbappe win Ballon d'Or in future?
Sports Brief earlier reported on PSG manager, Luis Enrique rating Mbappe's chances of winning the Ballon d'Or prior to the awards event on October 30.
Last month, he finished third behind the winner, Lionel Messi and so-called rival Erling Haaland, but remains near the top after a World Cup hat-trick.
