Bonginkosi Ntuli’s dad has been left devastated following the passing of his footballer son, who succumbed to cancer on Sunday, November 5.
AmaZulu confirmed the death of the player in a heartbreaking statement, throwing football fans into deep mourning.
He was his team’s striker since 2019, and earlier this year, the captain married the club’s CEO, Sinenjabulo Zungu.
In reacting to his son’s death, Thulani Ntuli stated that the family had lost the most important person.
He stated that the former Mamelodi Sundowns striker had been helpful to the family, adding that he had been acting as the head of the family.
Thulani then said the family would meet to decide on the burial arrangements. He told KickOff via Snl24:
“Sifilwe imbiza (We lost the most important person as a family).
“I am running short of words to describe Bongi. He was everything to the family. I am yet to meet a more respectful person than Bongi, and alongside his humility, he was a loving and caring person.
“His passing is a big loss to the family. He was helpful in every way to the family. Even though I am the father, Bongi was carrying the responsibility as the head of the family."
Since Bongi's sudden passing tributes have poured in from all sections of South Africa and the PSL is expected to hold a moment of silence in honour of the late striker.
