The South African football community was thrown into mourning after learning about the death of AmaZulu FC striker, Bonginkosi Ntuli on Sunday, November 5.
The AmaZulu star was rushed to the Midlands Medical Centre in Pietermaritzburg just before the game against Polokwane City and tragically lost his battle with cancer at the same hospital.
The Amaqhawe fans last saw Ntuli in action against Cape Town City at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on September 17.
He got the world talking when he walked down the aisle with the Chief Executive Officer of AmaZulu FC, Sinenjabulo Zungu, in a colourful wedding ceremony, a few months ago.
How Ntuli once saved AmaZulu from relegation
Ntuli may no longer be alive, but his memory still lives on, especially in AmaZulu's history.
The South African striker's performances in the 2019-20 season saved the Heroes from being relegated to the lower division.
The 32-year-old striker played a pivotal role that season, as his goals earned AmaZulu crucial points as they finished four points above the drop zone at the end of the campaign, according to a report by Daily Maverick.
He scored 14 goals that season but missed out on the top scorer award to Peter Shalulile and Gabadinho Mhango, who both scored 16 goals.

Sports Brief earlier reported that South African celebrities paid tribute to Ntuli, who died after losing a short battle with cancer.
