Benni McCarthy was recently unveiled as the head coach of AmaZulu FC and wants to turn the team's dreams into reality. The 43-year-old stated that he wants to give young soccer players the same opportunities he had.

According to the former footballer, the position of head coach was made irresistible by the chairman of the club. McCarthy's passion for change in terms of current and future players is what fueled his decision to take over the head coaching position.

AmaZulu recently secured the 8th position in the PSL log after defeating Chippa United 3-1 in their clash over the weekend.

According to The South African, McCarthy said:

"How can I not want to be part of the club that has an inspiration because I was once a young boy too, I was fortunate enough to be given an opportunity to become someone."

While KickOff reported that McCarthy wishes to give back through his new position and in turn change lives while also ensuring the club achieves its own ambitions.

Briefly.co.za previously reported on McCarthy when he was unveiled as AmaZulu's head coach. The soccer legend has not been affiliated with any club for just over a year after he left Cape Town City.

AmaZulu's official Twitter account announced McCarthy's new position in a very excited manner. In the announcement tweet, the Durban club stated that McCarthy is "ready to drive the boys to Top 4 this season and beyond."

Fans seemed quite impressed with their guesses, as many already assumed that McCarthy would take over from Ayanda Dlamini who just recently stepped down.
